ISRAEL & HEBREW ROOTS

Beit Or Ha'Chaim is a Messianic Jewish congregation based in Vienna, Austria. Our goal is to introduce people from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and the nations to Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ), the Messiah of Israel, the Hebrew roots of the faith, the Torah, Shabbat, and God’s biblical feasts.

From Vienna, we are committed to building a Bible-based Messianic Jewish community and supporting national and international projects, missions, teaching initiatives, and faith networks. People from Vienna, St. Pölten, Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, and throughout the German-speaking world can find community, Bible study, prayer, discipleship, and spiritual growth with Team Yeshua.

We believe that Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) is the promised Messiah of Israel and that understanding the Hebrew roots of the faith helps us to understand the Bible more deeply within the context of the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, and the New Covenant.

What Is Messianic Judaism?

Messianic Judaism combines faith in Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) with the Hebrew roots of the faith. It understands the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, and the New Covenant as interconnected parts of Scripture and recognizes Yeshua as the promised Messiah of Israel.

Shabbat and the biblical feasts of God, such as Passover (Pesach), Shavuot, Sukkot, Yom Teruah, and Yom Kippur, play an important role because they point to God’s plan of redemption and help us understand the Bible within its original biblical and historical context.

More and more people from Vienna, Lower Austria, St. Pölten, Wiener Neustadt, throughout Austria, Germany, and Switzerland are searching for the original roots of the faith and a deeper understanding of the Holy Scriptures, the Torah, Shabbat, the biblical feasts, and the significance of Israel in God’s plan of redemption. Team Yehshua seeks to help people understand the Bible more deeply within the context of Israel, the Torah, the Hebrew roots of the faith, and Yeshua HaMashiach the Messiah, while growing together in a living community.

OUR IDENTITY

As Beit Or Ha'Chaim, we understand ourselves as a Messianic Jewish congregation. We believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and are rooted in the Hebrew roots of the faith, the Holy Scriptures of Israel, the Torah, the Prophets, and the biblical appointed times.

We believe that Yeshua HaMashiach (ישוע המשיח) is the promised Jewish Messiah of Israel, spoken of by Moses, the Prophets, and the Writings. Therefore, we do not see our faith as a departure from Jewish heritage, but as an expression of the hope in the Messiah proclaimed throughout the Scriptures of Israel.

As Messianic Jews and Messianic believers, we seek to honor the God of Israel, study His Word, value Shabbat and God’s biblical feasts, and live according to the ways He has revealed in the Holy Scriptures.

We understand ourselves as part of the Messianic Jewish movement, which recognizes Yeshua as the Jewish Messiah while emphasizing the significance of Israel, the Torah, the Hebrew language, and the biblical roots of the faith.

Our desire is to help people come to know the God of Israel, study the Holy Scriptures, and discover the hope of the Messiah that stands at the heart of the biblical message.

What Is the Torah?

The Torah forms the foundation of the Holy Scriptures and plays a central role in understanding the Hebrew roots of the faith. The word “Torah” is often translated as “law,” but it also means instruction, teaching, and guidance. It reveals God’s character, His order, and His will for the lives of His people.

The Five Books of Moses contain fundamental principles for faith, righteousness, community, worship, and how we treat one another. They reveal God’s love, His holiness, and His desire for people to live in a living relationship with Him.

Within Messianic Jewish understanding, the Torah is not regarded as a burden, but as a gift from God. Many believers today are rediscovering the significance of Shabbat, God’s biblical feasts, purity of heart, and the wisdom contained in God’s Word.

Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) taught the Torah, lived according to the Torah, and revealed its deeper spiritual meaning. Therefore, more and more people are exploring the Hebrew roots of the faith in order to understand the Bible more deeply within the context of the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, and the New Covenant.

Beit Or Ha'Chaim seeks to help people deepen their knowledge of God’s Word, rediscover the beauty of the Torah, and gain a better understanding of the biblical foundations of faith.

Who Belongs to Israel?

Who belongs to Israel? This question has occupied believers for centuries and is being asked anew by many people today. The Bible speaks of God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as well as His everlasting covenant with Israel.

At the same time, the Holy Scriptures show that God’s plan of salvation is not limited to one people. People from all nations are invited to come to know the God of Israel, share in His promises, and walk in His ways. The Prophets speak of a time when people from many nations will seek and worship the God of Israel together.

In the Bible, Israel is described not only in terms of ancestry, but also in relation to God and faithfulness to His Word. The Torah is not understood as a burden or compulsion, but as God’s loving instruction for His people. Out of love for God and a desire to please Him, believers seek to honor His commandments, His appointed order, Shabbat, and the feasts He established.

Understanding Israel, the House of Judah, the House of Israel, and the nations is one of the important themes of the Bible. For this reason, many people study questions concerning God’s promises, the restoration of Israel, the Hebrew roots of the faith, and the significance of these subjects for our time.

Beit Or Ha'Chaim seeks to help people explore these connections through the Bible and gain a deeper understanding of Israel’s central role in God’s plan of salvation.

Who Is Yeshua HaMashiach?

Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ), according to the testimony of the Holy Scriptures, is the promised Messiah of Israel, spoken of by Moses, the Prophets, and the Writings. He was sent by the God of Israel to fulfill God’s promises, to seek the lost, and to open the way to reconciliation with the Father.

As Messianic believers, we believe in the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. As it is written in the Shema Yisrael:

“Hear, O Israel: יהוה our God, יהוה is one.”
(Deuteronomy 6:4)

We believe that the Father is the only true God and that Yeshua is the Messiah sent by Him, the King of Israel and the Son of God. Yeshua did not come to replace the Father, but to fulfill the will of His Father and to lead people to the Father.

Yeshua taught the Torah, honored Shabbat, celebrated God’s appointed feasts, and lived fully according to the will of His Father. His life, ministry, death, and resurrection testify to God’s love, mercy, and faithfulness toward Israel and the nations.

Within our Messianic Jewish understanding, the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, and the New Covenant do not contradict one another. Rather, together they point to the Messiah and reveal God’s plan of salvation.

Beit Or Ha'Chaim seeks to encourage people to discover Yeshua HaMashiach through the Holy Scriptures, explore the message of the Prophets, and grow in a living relationship with the God of Israel.

Shabbat and the Feasts of God

Shabbat and God’s biblical feasts are a precious part of the Holy Scriptures and the Hebrew roots of the faith. They help us understand God’s Word more deeply and remind us of His plan of salvation—from creation to the return of the Messiah.

Out of love for God and His Word, we seek to honor Shabbat and to learn about and celebrate the appointed times established by Him. These include Passover (Pesach), the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Firstfruits, Shavuot (Pentecost), Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). We also commemorate Hanukkah (Festival of Lights) and Purim, which recall important events in the history of the Jewish people.

Within the Messianic faith, we recognize that these appointed times point to Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) and reveal God’s plan of salvation. They demonstrate the unity of the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, and the New Covenant and help us understand the Bible within its original context.

This is not about religious compulsion or observing traditions merely for their own sake, but about love for God, joy in His Word, and the desire to draw closer to Him. God’s appointed times remind us of His faithfulness, His promises, and His presence in our lives.

More and more people from Vienna, St. Pölten, Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria, throughout Austria, Germany, and Switzerland are becoming interested in Shabbat, God’s biblical feasts, the Torah, and the Hebrew roots of the faith. Beit Or Ha'Chaim seeks to help people discover these treasures of the Bible, experience fellowship, and grow together in faith in the God of Israel and His Messiah.

Living According to God’s Word

Living according to God’s Word is a journey of faith, love, and daily discipleship. As Messianic believers, we seek to love the God of Israel with all our hearts, trust Him, and align our lives with the teachings of the Holy Scriptures.

We do not understand the Torah as a burden or religious compulsion, but as God’s loving instruction. His commandments, His appointed order, Shabbat, and the biblical feasts He established help us live in a deeper relationship with Him and better understand His will.

Yeshua HaMashiach (ישוע המשיח) showed us what a life of obedience, love, mercy, and truth looks like. He taught people to love God with all their hearts and to love their neighbors as themselves. His example inspires us not only to read God’s Word, but also to put it into practice in our daily lives.

For us, living according to God’s Word means prayer, fellowship, Bible study, discipleship, love for our neighbors, and spiritual growth. It means honoring Shabbat, studying the Holy Scriptures, and understanding God’s biblical feasts as part of His plan of salvation.

At a time when many people are searching for guidance, truth, and meaning, we seek to encourage a life built on the foundation of God’s Word. Our goal is to grow together in faith, come to know the God of Israel more deeply, and follow Him with joy, faithfulness, and devotion.

Community & Discipleship

Faith is not meant to be lived alone. The first disciples gathered together for prayer, the study of the Holy Scriptures, fellowship, and mutual encouragement. We also believe today that spiritual growth flourishes especially when people seek God together and walk alongside one another.

At Beit Or Ha'Chaim, we seek to create a place where people can come to know the God of Israel more deeply, gain a deeper understanding of the Bible, and grow in their faith. For us, community means more than simply gathering together; it also means mutual support, friendship, prayer, and discipleship in everyday life.

We seek to encourage people to follow Yeshua HaMashiach, study God’s Word, and deepen their understanding of the Hebrew roots of the faith. Through Bible study, Shabbat fellowship, prayer, worship, and meaningful exchange, we want to grow together in faith and be a light to those around us.

Our desire is to build a vibrant community where people can mature spiritually, discover their gifts, and learn to serve God with all their heart, soul, and strength.

Giur – Can You Become Part of Israel?

The Holy Scriptures show that God’s plan of salvation is not limited to one people, but invites people from all nations to come to know the God of Israel, walk in His ways, and share in His promises.

A well-known example is Ruth. Although she was not born an Israelite, she said to Naomi:

“Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.”
(Ruth 1:16)

Through her faith, devotion, and faithfulness to the God of Israel, she became part of Israel and even an ancestor of the Messiah.

In Jewish tradition, the process of joining the Jewish people is known as Giur (גיור). From a Messianic perspective, however, it is not merely about outward affiliation or a religious designation, but about a sincere turning to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to His Word, and to His will.

The Apostle Paul also uses the image of the olive tree in Romans 11. He describes how people from the nations can share in God’s promises. This does not mean replacing Israel, but being connected by God’s grace to the spiritual roots of Israel.

We believe that true belonging is not determined by ancestry alone, but also by faith, faithfulness, and one’s relationship with the God of Israel. The Torah is not understood as a burden, but as God’s loving instruction. Out of love for God, believers seek to honor His commandments, Shabbat, and the appointed times He established.

People from all nations are invited to come to know the God of Israel, explore the Holy Scriptures, and discover the Hebrew roots of the faith. Beit Or Ha'Chaim seeks to help people understand these subjects through the Bible and gain a deeper understanding of the connection between Israel, God’s Word, and Yeshua HaMashiach (ישוע המשיח).

Just as Ruth chose the God of Israel, people from all over the world are invited today to turn to the God of Israel, share in His promises, and walk in His ways together with His people.

The Next Generation

We believe that God still calls young people today to know Him, follow His ways, and build their lives on a strong foundation. In a time filled with uncertainty, distraction, and lack of direction, many are searching for truth, hope, identity, and a deeper purpose in life.

Beit Or Ha'Chaim especially seeks to encourage the next generation to ask questions, explore the Holy Scriptures, and build a personal relationship with the God of Israel. We believe that every person was created by God and has a unique calling.

You are not here by accident. Your life has value, purpose, and a future. God desires not only to give people knowledge, but also hope, healing, community, and direction for their lives.

Therefore, we seek to create a place where young people can build friendships, grow together, discover the Bible, experience Shabbat, learn about God’s biblical feasts, and live out their faith authentically.

The future does not belong to hopelessness, but to those who are willing to seek truth, take responsibility, and walk their path with God.

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers.”

Christians and the Hebrew Roots of the Faith

At Beit Or Ha'Chaim, people from both Jewish and non-Jewish backgrounds are welcome. Many believers from the nations are rediscovering the Hebrew roots of their faith and seek to understand the Bible more deeply within the context of the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, and the New Covenant.

We believe that God has included both Israel and the nations in His plan of salvation. Therefore, we invite Christians, seekers, and anyone interested to explore the Holy Scriptures with us, ask questions, and discover the treasures of biblical revelation.

Our goal is not to separate people from their background or culture, but to help them come to know the God of Israel, the Bible, and Yeshua HaMashiach (ישוע המשיח) more deeply.

Many people from Christian communities today are interested in topics such as the Torah, Shabbat, God’s biblical feasts, the Hebrew roots of the faith, and the significance of Israel. At Beit Or Ha'Chaim, we seek to provide a place for learning, fellowship, and respectful dialogue.

We welcome everyone who desires to draw closer to God, understand His Word more deeply, and grow in faith together with others.

Messianic Judaism and Orthodox Judaism

As a Messianic Jewish congregation, we have great respect for the Jewish people, their history, their traditions, and their contribution to preserving the Holy Scriptures throughout many generations.

We value the love that many Orthodox Jews have for the Torah, their respect for Shabbat, their appreciation of the biblical appointed times, and their commitment to serving God with devotion. Many aspects of Jewish life can help us gain a deeper understanding of the Bible and its Hebrew roots.

At the same time, we differ on one essential point: as Messianic Jews, we believe that Yeshua HaMashiach (ישוע המשיח) is the promised Messiah of Israel, spoken of by Moses, the Prophets, and the Writings.

Despite this difference in belief, we see ourselves as connected to the Jewish people through the Holy Scriptures, the history of Israel, the Torah, the Hebrew language, Shabbat, and the appointed times established by God.

Our aim is not to promote conflict or division, but to invite people to explore the Holy Scriptures and examine the question of the Messiah’s identity in the light of the Bible.

We pray for Israel, love the Jewish people, and believe that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will never forget His covenant, His promises, or His love for Israel.

Are You Looking for Answers?

Many people ask themselves the same questions: Who is God? Why am I here? What is the purpose of my life? Why is there suffering? What happens after death? And what does the Bible say about the future?

The Holy Scriptures provide answers to these questions and show the way to a living relationship with the God of Israel. They reveal His character, His plan for humanity, and the hope He desires to give to all people.

At Beit Or Ha'Chaim, we invite people to explore the Bible for themselves, ask questions, and seek answers in God’s Word. We study topics such as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Yeshua HaMashiach (ישוע המשיח), the Torah, the Prophets, the Hebrew roots of the faith, Shabbat, God’s biblical feasts, and the promises concerning Israel and the nations.

Perhaps you are asking yourself:

• Who is God really?

• Who is Yeshua HaMashiach?

• What is the purpose of life?

• Why does God allow suffering?

• What happens after death?

• What does the Bible say about the end times?

• What is the significance of Israel in God’s plan?

• Why do believers observe Shabbat and God’s biblical feasts?

• How can I recognize God’s will for my life?

• How can I build a personal relationship with God?

We believe that sincere questions are valuable and that God’s Word provides answers, guidance, hope, and truth. Therefore, we want to encourage people to discover the Holy Scriptures, come to know the God of Israel, and build their faith on a firm foundation.

“You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
