Our faith is rooted in the Torah, the Prophets, the Psalms and the B'rit Chadashah (New Covenant Scriptures). We believe in the one God of Israel and in Yeshua HaMashiach as the promised Messiah. For us, the Bible cannot be separated from Israel, the Jewish people and the historical world in which the Scriptures were given.

CELEBRATING SHABBAT IN VIENNA

Shabbat stands at the heart of our community life.

Every Saturday, we gather in Vienna to turn our attention together toward the God of Israel. We pray, sing, read from the Torah, the Prophets and the B'rit Chadashah, study biblical teaching and spend time in fellowship.

For us, Shabbat is more than a tradition. It is the seventh day, sanctified by God from creation and established in the Torah as a day set apart for rest, worship and holiness.

Yeshua himself lived as a Jew among the people of Israel and participated in Jewish life on Shabbat. Understanding Shabbat therefore also helps us understand the world in which Yeshua lived, taught and ministered.

YESHUA HAMASHIACH AND THE JEWISH ROOTS OF FAITH

Many people know Jesus mainly through later Christian traditions. At Beit Or Ha'Chaim, we also seek to understand Yeshua within his original Jewish context.

Yeshua was Jewish. His first disciples were Jewish. His teaching belongs within the world of the Torah, the Prophets, Israel and the biblical appointed times.

We believe that Yeshua HaMashiach is the promised Messiah of Israel and that his life and teaching cannot be properly understood apart from the Hebrew Scriptures and the Jewish world in which he lived.

For this reason, we explore topics such as the Jewish roots of Jesus, Messianic Judaism, Israel, Torah, the Prophets, Romans 11 and the relationship between Judaism and Christianity.

Our desire is not simply to tell people what to believe, but to encourage them to open the Scriptures, ask serious questions and discover the biblical foundations for themselves.

At Beit Or Ha'Chaim, we study the whole of Scripture — from the Torah and the Prophets to the Psalms and the B'rit Chadashah.

We do not regard the Torah as an irrelevant historical background. It forms an essential foundation for understanding the biblical story, the Prophets, the covenant with Israel and many passages in the New Covenant Scriptures.

Our teaching includes subjects such as Shabbat, the biblical feasts, Yeshua, Israel, the Jewish roots of faith and central questions of Scripture.

Both beginners and people with many years of Bible study are welcome to learn, ask questions and deepen their understanding.

The biblical feasts belong to the history and faith of Israel. They speak of God's covenant, his faithfulness, redemption and his purposes for his people.

As a Messianic Jewish community, we also explore how these appointed times relate to Yeshua HaMashiach and the broader message of Scripture.

People come to us from many different backgrounds. Some have Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox or evangelical backgrounds. Others come from a Jewish background, another religious tradition or no religious community at all.

What matters to us is not where a person comes from, but whether they sincerely want to seek God, understand the Bible and ask questions.

People need fellowship, prayer, encouragement and sometimes simply another person who is willing to listen.

Alongside our Shabbat gatherings, Beit Or Ha'Chaim therefore offers opportunities for prayer, intercession, personal conversations, pastoral care and spiritual guidance in Vienna.

People who are grieving, struggling with fear or worry, searching for direction or carrying a personal prayer request are welcome to contact us.

We do not want to offer only information about the Bible. We also want to be present when life becomes personal, difficult or uncertain.

Our primary focus is to build a living Messianic Jewish community for people in Vienna and throughout Austria. At the same time, our online teaching and media also reach people beyond Austria who are interested in Messianic Judaism, Yeshua, Torah, Israel, Shabbat and the biblical feasts.

Through our website, Bible teaching and media work, we want to help people understand the Scriptures more deeply and rediscover their Jewish and Hebrew foundations.

Our starting point, however, remains Vienna:
